Hurricane Candle Holders

Candle holders come in all shapes and sizes and the hurricane candle holder is a sheer glass holder that comes with a glass stand. The candle is placed on the stand and the glass dome, wider at the bottom and fluted towards the top, is placed over the candle to protect it from draughts. These were used extensively before the advent of gas and electricity. They were produced in the hundreds of thousands for everyday use.

The hurricane candle holders come in sizes from 7 inches to 14 inches and some are made entirely from clear glass. They look very wonderful with a coloured candle inside.

They can be used very effectively in table decorations as a centre piece with a floral arrangement placed around them. A ribbon or twine can be tied around the holder in decorative arrangements.

The original hurricane lamp was first used with oil, before electricity and gas were used. The basic shape and style have stayed the same, except now they can be used with candles inside.

With all the modern inventions, people still like the old fashioned hurricane candle holders as they represent bygone times, and are practical, while looking very elegant in the right setting and give a wonderful glow to a room.

A lovely effect is to have the different sizes grouped, with coloured or white candles inside them, placed in a romantic setting, with greenery around the setting.,
