For Sultry Nights That Remind You Of The Hawaiian Islands, Try Bamboo Candles

Candles are infinitely handy to have around the home, and even better are those candles that are pleasantly scented.  If you have had the good fortune to visit the Hawaiian Islands, one of your strongest memories of that happy experience is the range of distinctive scents that abound there.  Now those scents are used in the creation of Hawaiian bamboo candles.  These island candles come in a range of fragrances and colors, so that you can use them throughout your home.  A bamboo candle also makes a lovely accent for an outdoor garden table as well.

Bamboo comes from a large family of plants that grow commonly in hot tropical regions, although there are certain species that thrive in colder climates as well.  Bamboo has a naturally hollow form, and it is used to great effect in the creation of a bamboo candle.  A short piece of the bamboo is cut, and this forms a bamboo candle holder for the bamboo candle wax.  You may find a bamboo candle holder where the top portion of the holder is cut flat, but there is also a type of bamboo candle holder where the bamboo is cut on an angle, giving an even more elegant appearance to the overall bamboo candle look.  

After the candle holder is cut to shape, the bamboo candle wax is poured inside and allowed to harden.  Prior to the pouring of the bamboo candle wax, a wick is set in place so that the candle may be lit.  Better wicks are lead free, and have either a zinc or paper core.    

Hawaiian Island candles come in many delightful scents that will remind you of this sun-washed location.  You might select from coconut or pineapple versions, and allow their delicious yet calorie-free scents to waft about your rooms.  Perhaps a candle in plumeria, a floral scent, or passion fruit, not to mention strawberry guava or white ginger, would be more to your liking; if so, they are available from the Islands for your enjoyment.  

Bamboo candles also come in a wide range of wax colors, making it easy to coordinate the candle with your room’s décor.  With shades ranging from white, pink, yellow, peach, purple, blue, mint green and deep rose, you will find that the colors also match the scent of the candles as well.  

This type of candle would also make a great accent for a garden with a tropical feel.  Candles provide light to areas where there might not be electricity, and can also be handy for this reason in a garden setting as well.
